Internship Scheme at ISTRAC

  • Eligibility:
    • Open to UG, PG, and PhD students (Indian citizens only) in science or technology disciplines.
    • Students who have completed within six months of their application are also eligible.
  • Duration:
    • The internship period ranges from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 45 days.
  • Academic Requirements:
    • A minimum aggregate of 60% or a CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale is required.
    • Applicants must be studying in the 5th semester or above.
  • Application Process:
    • Applications must be sent by email to hrd@istrac.gov.in during the designated periods (April-May and November-December).
    • Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications at least 30 days in advance.
    • It is important to note that financial assistance, such as stipends, accommodation, or transport facilities, is not provided.

Student Project Trainee Scheme

The student project trainee scheme offers a more extended engagement for those seeking in-depth research experience. The guidelines for the project trainee scheme include:

  • Eligibility and Duration by Degree:
    • Engineering (B.E/B.Tech): Minimum duration of 45 days (after completion of the 6th semester).
    • M.E./M.Tech: Minimum duration of 120 days (after completion of the 1st semester).
    • B.Sc./Diploma: Only final-year students are eligible with a minimum of 45 days duration.
    • M.Sc.: Minimum duration of 120 days (after completion of the 1st semester).
    • Ph.D.: Minimum duration of 30 months (after coursework completion).
  • General Requirements:
    • All applicants must maintain a minimum aggregate of 60% or a CGPA of 6.32.
    • Project work assignments are allocated based on guide availability, facility suitability, and project alignment with the student’s academic course.
    • As with internships, financial assistance is not provided, and the acceptance or rejection of applications will be communicated via email.
